About Me

I am a software engineer with a passion for DIY, sustainability, and telling stories. I love to learn new technologies and improve my skills. In my free time, I hike, read, and play tabletop roleplaying games.

This is a personal website where I share my projects, thoughts, and experiences. Have a look around!

A Few of My Favorite Things

  • Practicing my skills with programming and development.
  • Reading books (My favorite genres are Sci-fi/Fantasy, Philosophy, Religion, and History).
  • Fine tuning my Linux workstation.
  • Running tabletop RPGs with my friends.

My Projects

Tiny Cottage

I am building my own tiny house on top of a wooden trailer! The finished product will have an English cottage style and a two-story floor plan.

Fantasy RPG Setting

My favorite recent creative project is a new fantasy roleplaying setting I made for my home tabletop game. For the benefit of my close circle of friends and anyone else who possesses my peculiar flavor of nerdiness, I published all my worldbuilding notes as a custom online wiki. If you are so inclined, you can read up on the lore here.

My Website

You are here! This website is built with love with the help of Next.js and Tailwind CSS. I am using it to learn more about web development, practice my writing, and share my projects and thoughts with the world. It will remain a continual work in progress as I add more features and content.

Books I'm Reading

  • Name of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
  • A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn
  • The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin
  • The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett

The Greatest Websites of All Time

These websites inspire me to bring knowledge, utility, and joy to people's lives, as they have to mine.

  • Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia is the most extensive democratic institution of knowledge ever devised, available to everyone on earth(when it isn't being censored), and has become more factually accurate in the years since its creation.
  • The Internet Archive is a non-profit library of millions of free texts, movies, software, music, websites, and more. The archive also hosts the Wayback Machine, which holds a record of backup instances of over 916 billion webpages.
  • Anna's Archive is a non-profit dedicated to the the preservation of and universal access to knowledge and culture. They "preserve books, papers, comics, magazines, and more, by bringing these materials from various shadow libraries, official libraries, and other collections together in one place."
  • Internet Sacred Texts Archive is "the largest freely available archive of online books about religion, mythology, folklore and the esoteric on the Internet. The site is dedicated to religious tolerance and scholarship, and has the largest readership of any similar site on the web."
